This smoothie bowl has been inspired by my kitchen dream team. Bruno has been experimenting with using coffee beans in his smoothies to create beautiful coffee flavour in his smoothie bowls. My sister has also recently started doing this and has come up with this beauty of a recipe. I have just added psyllium husk to the recipe because it really helps my digestion. Feel free to play around with the recipe and add whatever you like. This is so easy to put together and makes for a great breakfast.
RECIPE (Serves 1)
1 tbsp instant coffee powder (I used Moccona)
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp maca powder
1 tbsp almond butter
1 tbsp psyllium husk
2 tbsp cacao powder
1-2 dates (depending on how sweet you like it)
1 cup crushed ice
1/4 cup of milk
1. Place all the ingredients into a high powered blender (I used a nutribullet) and blend until it forms a smooth ice-cream consistency.
2. Pour into a bowl and top with oats, berries and coconut (or whatever your heart desires).
Tip: If you add a bit more liquid it makes for a great smoothie on the go.
